Question: 18, 19, or stop worrying

- Go with 18 psi
- Go with 19 psi
- Stop worrying about your psi and run at what you like.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey guys,

I have been riding trials for a long time now and most of my records
have been hit with 18 psi, for some odd reason everytime I go above 18,
jumping gets a lot higher. I feel like I can get my full compression
with 18 psi, but 19+psi feel just too hard. What I'm so worried about is
bottoming out and breaking a rim. I can honestly say that I rarely do
huge drops on my unicycle, and I'm pretty good at rolling out. So would
it be such a big deal if I stuck with 18 psi. SHould I stop worrying and
run at whatever I like?

If you height is getting higher and you are not bottoming out stay with
that. It is not that odd, Ryan Atkins likes his psi high and he is an
amzing rider...

EDIT: Unless you have less control at a higher pressure....

The "correct" tire pressure is a factor of your weight, rim size, tire
width, tire depth, tire/tube thickness, and how hard you jump. In other
words, what's right for you might not even be close for someone else.
And it might be different if you switch to a different tire or rim.

And are tire pressure gauges really that accurate? In my experience,
no. What are you using?

I just went out and hit my record twice in a row. My first psi reader
said my psi was at 18 (which is what I wanted it at) my next psi reader
said it was at 17psi.*-B-u-t-*-

I have now decided that I'm going to run at 17 psi. I like 17 psi, I
feel like I can get a decent compression, I don't often do big drops and
most of them are to grass, so I don't think bottoming out is such a
worry.

I'd really like to know what you guys think about this^ I'd love to
ride at 17 psi.

If you bottom out just increase the pressure in your tire.
