Cyclists to get cheaper insurance
I haven't tried it but in theory it may be possible to drive 12 times a year and up to several thousand miles for $65 in insurance.
When it comes to cost/mile individual transportation, I'm second to none. There is a guy around here that charges up his electric car using roof solar panels, so he pays no tax on fuel or VED. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/8216-...ail/story.html California and/or the U.S. really need to take this opportunity to get a fuel and/or carbon tax. Then I might be toppled from the top of the cheap heap. Bret Cahill |

We have been able to demonstrate..... suggests they are talking money. I suspect most cyclist drivers are more careful of cyclists when driving. This does not mean they are not selfish, pushy, unpleasant human beings or that they do not treat pedestrians badly when cycling. What it may mean is that they are less like to be involved in collisions with cyclists which cost the insurers money. Follow the money so to speak. It could also just be that there is no real risk difference and the insurance underwriters think it is good PR for little cost. |

So if cyclists travelled the same distance as cars do, cyclists would kill 76 people, over twice as many as cars do at present. |
