Default Rim cracking solution

Threads often discuss rims cracking at the spoke holes, but they
hardly ever explain how to fix the cracks.

Here's how:

Anodizing is unlikely to have been involved.

Alas, the use of a jack knife may still be practical, but modern
country stores no longer stock flour barrels for wheel repair.

Cheers,

That seems like a good reason to carry a couple of barrel staves in
one's jersey pockets, along with a gimlet and some threaded brass
rod.

I was thinking of a bunch of duct tape.
