Forearm Irritation?
Thought it was from windsurfing, but just noticed it was a lot worse
after a couple hours on the bike and this windsurfing season has been close to a dead loss so far - having gone out only 5 times...so windsurfing sort of slips to the bottom as a root cause. It's right where a forearm muscle attaches on the inside of the elbow. Can't feel anything while riding...but somehow riding is aggravating (and/or causing?) it. Anybody experienced something similar? Workarounds? |

Anybody experienced something similar? Workarounds? Perhaps your just simply putting too much pressure on it? Try lowering seat height, or raising your bar......try and get a more "upright" position whilst riding...It'll help your back out too. |

Maybe that IS the reason? Lack of muscle tone and strength made it easy to wrench the ligaments? I'll let Sorni suggest other possible causes. You've always got some tension in your arms while riding, so that's probably aggravating it just enough. Lifting the bike would put quite a bit of strain on that location. Have you tried the elastic arm/elbow support? Physio and massage could be an option perhaps - wouldn't hurt to have it looked at. -- Westie (Replace 'invalid' with 'yahoo' when replying.) |

Anybody experienced something similar? Workarounds? I get the same thing Pete, but I think mine *is* windsurfing. A workaround? I don't know of one. I just use rest...maybe a little Ibuprophen. Never tried one of those neoprene braces...seems like it might help some by providing some stability to the joint. G |

Forearm Irritation?
RE/
Is it a skin irritation or a sore muscle? Wear arm warmers lately? Neither one. It's the fascia (sp?) where the muscle attaches to the bone. Westie's comment about lack of fitness rings true. In the past, I've found the elastic things to be only moderately helpful - the real fix has always been to stop using it. I was trolling for some miracle workaround. I guess it's NSDs and taking a little extra care until winter shuts me down anyhow... -- PeteCresswell |

Oops, I meant NSAIDs...not NSDs...

Yep - NSAID's, rest, cold stuff on it after use etc. Otherwise, there's always a steroid injection right into the painful tendon ',;~}~ Shaun aRe |
