My chain doesn't often drop off the big ring up front but when it does...
man oh man!
It jams solid down there between the crank arm and the big ring. I spent ten
minutes with the bike upside down, one foot braced against the downtube,
pulling and twisting chains like my life depended on it yesterday.
Hollowtech is great, but bring back the pin thing!

What are you riding that doesn't have one, XTR? My XT crank from last
year has one.

It's '04 XT Hollowtech on a VT1. Maybe it's an OEM thing for Giant? No pin
but it now has metal shavings and a gouge where the bloody pin should be!

Any chance you have a pic stashed away somewhere?

and looking at the thing is a damned site easier than someone snapping
a photo of it, then E-mailing it to you, then you d/l'ing it, then you
looking at the pic, THEN going to look at the bike, no?

You vastly underestimate my laziness!

No I didn't - quite the bloody opposite, in fact! Go take a bloody look ya
lazy sod, instead of trying to get the rest of us lazy ****s to do your
little bit of work for ya, AT MUCH GREATER EXPENSE OF TIME AND EFFORT!
