Something I stumbled on today.

The title of the album, Disraeli Gears, was actually a bit of an
inside joke. Eric had been thinking of getting a racing bike, and was
discussing it with Ginger, when Mick Turner, one of the roadies,
commented on the performance of "those Disraeli Gears" meaning to say
"derailleur gears". The lads thought this was hilarious and decided
that it should be the title of their next album. Had it not been for
Mick, the album would simply have been entitled, Cream.

In an old Bicycle Guide (?) photo and accompanying legend from 15+ years
ago, Cinelli presented Clapton with a custom Supercorsa after hearing that
he lusted after one.

So, did he ever get a bike?

BTW, didn't Tullio Campagnolo's son hang out with some rock stars?

He's had lots of bikes. I remember an ornate Condor particularly.

Ginger Baker had been a bike racer as a teenager, with hopes of
becoming a pro. Drumming was a secondary interest. An encounter
with a taxi while riding was at least partly responsible for
changing his priorities.
