Indeed, the driver should have stopped and was under a duty to do so. Let us
hope (for the sake of the victim of the hit and run) that the vehicle can be
traced.

vehicle can be traced.

Just a thought. Could they use the number displayed on the front & rear
number plates?

number plates?

Quite often they are false and if there were any witnesses they may
not have noted the number anyway.
