Sew-ups with slime? I can't even imagine how messy that must be when
swapping tires. Yuck!

And why would it be messy to have slime in a sew-up aka tubular tire when
changing tires? The slime is completely inside the tube which is inside
an enclosed tire casing.

Cheers

Until it’s not.

It'd be no more messier than slime inside a punctured inner tube on a
clincher rim. In fact it might even be less messy as the tire casing of
the tubular tire would still be supporting the tube when the tire was
removed from the wheel.

Cheers

Sure but I’d never put slime in my tubes. ?

I carry a small bottle of Stan's Tire Sealant IN CASE I puncture one of my tubular tires on a ride. I figure if I get a puncture on the second wheel I can put the Stan's into it and that should seal it until I get home. The ONE TIME I punctured both tires on a ride I didn't have any sealant and really wish I had had it then. I think of it as insurance - hope you never need but happy you have it if you do need it.

Cheers

I just carried a couple of extra tires folded under the seat and held
on with an extra "toe strap" :-)

If you've got a fair amount of glue on the rims and tires you can rip
one tire off and have the other on in a minute or so and the "old"
glue will hold well enough to get you home.

One guy flatted on today's club ride. To my amazement, another club
member pulled out a battery powered pump to inflate the guy's tire.

It was probably this one:

The problem I have had with battery operated things is that the
batteries seem to be always flat :-)

Why, oh why are you suffering that harsh ride?
Surely you would have no greater risk if snakebites with pressure of day, 90lb. Irless if your tires at 28mm or wider.

From the problems that Joerg has often voiced, he rides a lot of gravel at high speeds.

Yes, that's an example of a Single Point of Failure. I suspect the gizmo
had quite a few of those. It's not what I would choose.

I use 25mm wide tires but I still weigh over 210lbs, plus a fairly heavy
load on the bike which has a steel frame. My goal is to drop down to my
old fighting weight of 190lbs from decades ago but that is really tough.

Ask yourself how good "bacon" can be if 85% of Bernays-brainwashed American

Real Americans can discern that from the real stuff :-)

Try /ventrèche/: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ventr%C3%A8che_(porc).
It is quite hard to find anyway, even here.

Now that stuff I wouldn't eat ...

Come on, gallophobe, just tell yourself it's some kind of Saumagen con
Obatzda, then you'll like it.

Just thinking about Pfaelzer Saumagen makes me almost throw up.

But stay away from candy bars and packaged cheese, some undergo special
enrichment procedures before regular retail:

I do not eat any candy bars, Clif bars or any of that. On rides longer
than 20mi or 30km I carry home-baked bread made from beer fermentation
residue (trub).

Looks like the girls also smuggled lots of BabyBel cheese. I like that.
