Default Happy Thanksgiving!

To all you members and lurkers in this huge, dysfunctional family of
AM-B, Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm thankful for:
good health,
a great wife,
fun kids,
a nice place to live,
rowdy riding buddies,
Avids, Race Face, Azonic,
lotsa friends,
no enemies,
self employment,
microbrews,
snow,
the Gray Lady,
2 good bikes, and a few in process,
good eyesight,
40 miles of uncrowded singletrack 20 minutes from my house,
a bizarre sense of humor, and
a God in Heaven who takes good care of me.

My Best to All of You. (even the gal I yelled at if you're lurking!)

Paladin
And don't forget your Turkey Burner rides!

We have 2 special rides every year, that we never miss. Our annual Turkey
Burner Ride and the New Years Day Ride. No matter how hung over we are or
what the weather is like, we do it, and its always fun.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving, from our dysfunctional household to yours :-)

Paladin says:

snip

Happy T'Giving to you, too.

I'll agree to most on your list, and add:

A house near the ocean,
a boat to play in,
family to play in it with,
and a dog to come home to.

I'm thankful for:
good health, a wonderful fiance, good jobs for both of us, a new house,
healthy parents, parents-in-law-to-be with whom I get along well, moving
to an area that just begs you to go play in the outdoors, the view of
the foothills and the mountains most every morning, sunshine, snow, and
a ton of stuff I'm sure I'll remember as soon as I hit the send key.

Happy turkey day!

I guess I fit the dysfunctional parameters well enough, soooo....

I'm thankful for:
A Wife who loves me (in spite of myself) AND who rides;
Recovering from Cardiac Surgery;
2nd chances;
still being able to ride;
ANY place for me to ride;
still having most of my marbles;
the people I've met, and have yet to meet, from A.M-B;
cool water on a warm summer days ride;
family that doesn't give up on me, even when I give up on myself;
chances to help at races and on trail work days;
Black Cherry Almond Clif bars;
good music to make the hour on the stationary bike go faster;
the enthusiasm of children;
the aromas from the dinner table as family gathers to eat.

We've already had our Thanksgiving up here in Canada, but it never hurts
to be mindful of what one has reason to be thankful for...

Thus, I celebrate it twice a year, so I double the thankfulness :-)

Speaking of areas that beg to be played in (poetic licence...)

We go somewhere new and usually remote for TG, and this year we are heading
towards the John Day fossil beds of central Oregon. We'll be in a tiny town
named Mitchell, just north of the Ochoco National Forest. At this time of
year that area is a crap shoot for weather. We know its gonna be cold, but
it might be pretty dry and bikable, or it could dump a couple of feet of
snow. We plan to take bikes and snowshoes.

Wondering if anybody has firsthand knowledge of bike trails along the
northern edge of the Ochoco National Forest? Literature and FS maps show
"legally bikable" singletrack, but would be interested to know if folks have
reasonable favorites that might still be under the snow line at this time of
year?

Tnx
Gary
