If he had been '"pulled up to speed" by a Hennessey Venom F5 maybe he could have added another 100mph.

The point is it wasn't a real record.

Well it's certainly the fastest a bicycle has travelled at, just not

under its own steam.

It highlights the massive dependency of high speed personal / low passenger transportation on energy due to wind resistance.

Some in the EU have suggested packing semi-autonomous vehicles together on freeways. These cars can brake faster [draft closer] than humans to get much greater fuel efficiency.

Musk suggested the "hyperloop" but even a 15 m vacuum tube like those used to cool lettuce -- about the same size as a hyperloop tube -- is expensive. Vacuum tubes are so expensive they are hauled all over the West depending on which area is harvesting lettuce. It's cheaper than building more tubes.

Still it's good someone at least tried to end run wind resistance.

Better to be poor and have choked roads than have the EU take control...
