Interesting logic there. Cyclist killed on A50 by a lorry driver who
was texting on phone, so cyclists should be banned.

I like the way the journalist ends their piece with "On Monday morning
a car ended up under a lorry on the A50 after a collision westbound
between Sudbury and Doveridge."

The new-ish A50 route from the M1 to Stoke (A500/M6) was not built in order
to make it quicker to cycle from the East Midlands to the Potteries and the
older route still exists (though renumbered).

Bicycles, pedestrians and animals should be banned from all new-build
(purpose-built) expressways and super-highways. You know it makes sense.

Agreed 100%

Quite right. A push bike isn't a viable form of transport, its a kids toy.

The last person who should ever have his/her opinion sought about What-
Should-Be-Done-About-X is a relative of someone who has died, be it
though and accident like this, or alcohol abuse, or from some disease,
etc. There's a reason it's left to disinterested politicians and civil
servants, it's because they are able to be objective, whereas a
bereaved relative is not.

Agreed, provided there are good alternative routes for bicycles,
pedestrians etc.

My kids toy is far more useful and viable to me as a means of transport
than a poison gas emitter.

Its the usual vulnerable victim blaming of course. They will never be
happy until cyclists are banned from ALL roads and are forced to share
footpaths with pedestrians.

They already share footpaths with pedestrians - illegally. Complete ban
would be better, get the scum off the roads completely.
