The intention was to make George Street a calm public realm, with access for parking still possible to all parts of the street. -- David Hansen, Edinburgh I will *always* explain revoked encryption keys, unless RIP prevents me http://www.opsi.gov.uk/acts/acts2000/00023--e.htm#54 |

It is left to the intelligence of motorists to work out whether they should park there or not depending on the tides. If they don't know they can always ask in the pub. Golden Ball in Oxcliffe Hill, Lancs. Correct. The main car park is round the back, thobut. And the major chiz is that the camp site next door has turned the bit we used to use over to static caravans, so the BHPC doesn't get to drink in the Golden Ball any more :-( -- Dave Larrington http://www.legslarry.beerdrinkers.co.uk I have a shell collection, have you seen it? I keep it scattered on the world's beaches. |

When you say "rat running" do you mean passing and repassing? The intention was to make George Street a calm public realm, with access for parking still possible to all parts of the street. Why not do it using common sense then, as they realised in Fryslân a decade or two ago? -- Matt B |

Golden Ball in Oxcliffe Hill, Lancs. The Blue(?) Anchor, Bosham wot is in Sussex has a similarly noted wall. A fiend of mine, salty sea dog yotty type and Should Know Better, parked his ageing Chavalier there and Lo! the tide came in and it had to be towed out by a Big Tractor. Correct.
