Dunno but they must have been gay bikers on acid when they did some of
their website design.

Nothing, it's a bit of a joke that's all. The bikes in their lesbian
category have stand-over frames and would, in a "straight" bike shop, be
called women's bikes.

Who gives a flying f***? If somebody wants to promote their bike shop as
serving any particular community, I don't see any problem with that.

The bikes seem to be pretty poor and in no way specialised.

As such thats either tokenism or just a poor joke.

Brilliant! I will forward it to a lesbian friend of mine - she might be
amused.

That's not tokenism by any normal definition of the word I know

How about this? It is a start-up business with gay owners, they feel that
one approach to building their business is to market to the gay community.
They know, and that community knows, that bikes aren't gay-specific---they
are doing it in a light-hearted way after all---but it's an angle.
