Wouldn't someone have to notice he's even in the race before trying to keep him from winning it? Brad Anders |

"And the Spaniard, now almost out of contention for a second consecutive victory on the race, said he believes that "certain riders" are conspiring to make sure he does not win the Tour de France." Indeed. One of those riders is Sastre. "There are some riders who don't want me to win this Tour," added Sastre," Really ?!?!?!?!? Jesus, I am shocked. Thanks Bill -- William R. What velonwes didn't mention (it was on Belgian TV), is that Sastre said he wanted to win the stage to Ventoux "for children suffering from cancer". Sastre riding for cancer! Is he looking for trouble? Benjo |

Dumbass - I'm gonna guess he's talking about Saxo Bank. Last year they raced to set him up for the win. This year they're doing it for Andy Shleck. Sastre is stupid. Of course they're going to race against him. Riis is probably none too happy about him leaving for Cervelo and even if he didn't care, Saxo is going to treat him like everyone else they're trying to beat. thanks, Kurgan. presented by Gringioni. |

It's to give children cancer, I think. Linked to Dutch counterpart KiKa (.nl). He explains: http://www.sporza.be/permalink/1.566852 |

Brad Anders He makes no sense "There are some riders who don't want me to win this Tour," Makes complete sense. Best that I can recall, it should be like 171 riders don't want you to win and 8 that do, unless you make it 9 by counting yourself. More 'against' and fewer 'for' if you are on Astana. Conspiracy theories are the first refuge of the chicken **** whiners. Quick way to give up all the good will of the fans earned by his three surges to get close to the front yesterday. Of course, marketing 101 says always attack the media if you want good press. Maybe he only complained about them and they made up the rest of the interview. Curtis L.
