dead, which effectively means the end of his active life

The driver slunk off without giving his details.

there is no mention of the driver leaving the scene, why do you think he
did?

these reports usually give some information about identified drivers:

details.

That's a *lie*.

There is nothing in that report to suggest that any driver involved in the
incident failed to stop or failed to provide the required information.

QUOTE:
Police name pedestrian killed in Sussex road accident

A 49-year-old man died after he was struck by a car as he climbed out of
another vehicle. Police said Stuart Maplesden was involved in the accident
near his home in Battle Road, St Leonards-on-Sea, on Sunday. He was taken to
the Conquest Hospital, Hastings, but later died. Police are appealing for
witnesses to the accident, involving a silver Toyota Avensis car, which
happened shortly after 05:30 BST.
ENDQUOTE

There was no more than that reported.

Are you *so* desperate to try to score a point?

No, nothing in either of those about failure to stop either. You made it up.

One of the reports isn't even about that incident.

Nay, it is of critical interest.
I want to be forewarned of dangerous actions by drivers who may be on the
roads I cycle on.

though the absence of details in the second report suggests that the
driver has not been identified
