Default Car stops for me at zebra crossing

I was a pedestrian this morning. I was standing at the edge of a zebra
crossing. A car over the far side had stopped. I looked right to see the
nearest motor vehicle several hundred metres distant but an adult cyclist
was about 10 metres away. So I waited a few seconds to see what he did.
Guess what, he rode straight over the crossing in front of me. Didn't even
acknowledge I had waited for him.

If I had just stepped out when that car had stopped, as is my priority,
would the cyclist have:
a ) hit me
b) swerved round me uttering obscenities
c) actually stopped.

Certainly not c).
A combination of a) and b) is the most likely answer.

Hit you: blamed you - and sought compo for his damaged push-bike.

Possibly. Or he might have just cycled past you.

Well that depends on you. If you're a woman, disabled or a child the answer
would be c) and you'd probably have got chinned. If you look like you could
punch a hole in a wet paper bag the answer would be either a) or b),
followed by him pedalling furiously away before you could get hold of him.

just looking at the view. Why didn't you cross when you had the chance?

Because he didn't want to run the risk of the psycholist running into him,
swearing at him and then buggering off on the quick.

Were you actually on the crossing? If not you're just standing on the
pavement looking at the scenery.

What, for cycling across a zebra crossing whilst someone's standing on
the pavement next to it?

You're a genius, Jim.
