Wriggling killer biker walks free
QUOTE:
A motorcyclist who killed a pedestrian while speeding escaped jail after a judge accepted that a tailgating motorist meant he could not slow down. Christopher Carney, then 18, was travelling home at speed when he ran down father-of-four Raymond Richardson, 57, who was crossing a dual carriageway after meeting his brother in a pub. Carney, from Denton, Greater Manchester, swerved in a bid to avoid Mr Richardson, but struck him with his Kawasaki. Police discovered he was travelling at 48mph in a 30mph zone and Mr Richardson, from Stockport, died of his injuries in hospital. The defendant's claim that he was unable to brake because a sports car was too close behind him, prompted fury from Mr Richardson's family. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/201...estrian-judge/ |

It's like the little dog, mentioned in countless accident reports to the police and insurance companies. It manages to get to every corner of the kingdom and can be seen (by some) to run out in front of a vehicle which is "forced" to swerve to avoid it and consequently hits a parked car, or the kerb, or a lamp-post, or a tree. Then that infanous little dog disappears entirely, to re-materialise somewhere else at some other time, in similar circumstances, then mysteriously disappears again. |
