Oh here's those stats you asked me to dig out:

For 2007 - compared with 2006, there was a 6 per cent fall in child
pedestrian KSI casualties, a 12 per cent fall in car occupant KSI
casualties but a rise of 4 per cent in child pedal cyclist KSI
casualties.

In 2007 there were 522 pedal cyclists aged under 16 who were killed
or seriously injured.
