Default Pavement motorist causes serious injuries to 11 year old.

Pavement cyclists beware, this could happen to you! If you think
riding on pavements is safer than using roads then think again!

"An 11-year-old girl was seriously injured when she was hit by a car
as she walked down a street.

The car struck a wall before hitting the girl and a woman and coming
to rest in a garden, police said.

Paramedics were called to the junction of Warstones Drive and Hamble
Road in Wolverhampton at 18:45 BST on Friday.

The girl is in a serious but stable condition. The woman and driver
were not seriously injured.

Insp Mark Watkins, from West Midlands Police, urged any witnesses to
contact the force.

"The young girl has suffered serious injuries and we have launched a
full investigation into how the car came to leave the road and collide
with her and the other pedestrian."

The road was closed for several hours while the vehicle, a Nissan
Almera, was recovered."

What a weird thing for the driver to do deliberately.

You don't think it might have been involuntary, do you?

Just a thought (assuming you're capable)...

Ask Mrcheerful. Apparently he thinks that many cyclists kill people
deliberately, but the figures are probably suppressed (deliberately).

Pavement cycling is against the law.

This is off topic rubbish.

Dave - Cyclists VOR. "Many people barely recognise the bicycle as a
legitimate mode of transport; it is either a toy for children or a
vehicle fit only for the poor and/or strange," Dave Horton, of Lancaster
University, wrote in an interim assessment of the Understanding Walking
and Cycling study. "For them, cycling is a bit embarrassing, they fail
to see its purpose, and have no interest in integrating it into their
lives, certainly on a regular basis."

Pavement cyclist?

What about pavement pedestrians?

They are at risk from both cars and cycles.

Shouldn't cyclists be on the road?

They should be on the road, but Doug lets them on the pavement to
terrorise pedestrians.

Of course they should but some cyclists don't feel safe on our roads
with so many dangerous drivers about. The point being ignored by
motorists here is that pavements are not safe for cyclists because of
pavement motorists who loose control of their cars and crash through
walls, even putting people at risk inside their homes.

If these dangers to cyclists from pavement motorists were highlighted
by the authorities, instead of being ignored or covered up, there
would be far fewer cyclists inclined to use pavements.
