Cyclists causing pollution.
It's often said by the hard of thinking cyclist, that cyclists shouldn't pay to use the roads, because they cause no pollution. But of course, they do. An example I saw the other day, a cyclist, trying to get his hopeless form of transport to go up a hill. He could only manage about 5mph. Behind him, without room to pass, was a queue of around 30 cars, vans & lorries, all limited to the same speed. Since the internal combustion engine isn't designed for 5 mph, they were all emitting more CO2 than they should - all because of someone riding a push bike. -- Dave-Cyclists VORT Motorists pay £46 billion a year in extra taxes, specifically so they can use the roads. Less than £10 billion of this is spent on roads. Q: Do cyclists pay any specific, extra taxes in order to use their vehicles on the road? A: No. They are sponging freeloaders. |
