It could be that quite a few cyclists are still of the opinion that

In the same way that many drivers believe it is acceptable to drive along the footpath until they find a nice parking spot which will then restrict access for pedestrians, prams and disabled carriages. Luckily, spot fines are a good deterrent for these law breakers.

Drivers don't drive along footpaths, idiot.

If I remember - you are allowed to cross the pavement to access your
property, not park on the access.

Just have look: The construction of a vehicle crossing does not give the
occupier of the premises any particular rights, except to drive across
the footway to gain access to his/her property with a private or light
goods motor car, the crossing itself is part of the public highway.

"have look" at what?

Your assertion?

The footway crossing that leads to my driveway is the major route.
Cyclists cycling (criminally) along that footway have to give way to any
of us driving in or out. And particularly to any of us who happen to be
on foot.

Indeed - you are NOT permitted to block a public footway with a parked motor vehicle - a spot fine can follow as a few idiots down our street have found out.

So simon drives across the pavement, I see. I expect he also drives
down the chippie on the pavement. There is a vast difference between
making a journey on the pavement and parking on it.

Too dim to understand the difference between 'onto' and 'along'.

Traced by their registration plates. Thank you for confirming that
cyclists should have them.
