Some thoughts on Usenet from Ed Dolan
"Still Just Me..." wrote in message ... On Sat, 6 Jun 2009 19:39:26 -0500, "Edward Dolan" wrote: I will leave you to your law suit argument with Still and only take him to the wood shed for his liberal views on abortion and the death penalty ... or whatever else liberal nonsense he comes up with. The Pope is anti-death penalty too - is he a liberal? The Pope is merely the Pope, not a Great Saint like Saint Edward the Great. Jeez, how many times do I have to explain this. I don't cater to any one ideology, each issue is decided on it's merits. Many of my views are shared with conservatives (but not many with the robber baron neo-cons we see these days masquerading as conservatives). You come across as predominantly liberal, but I like to treat issues and not ideologies also. You should know that I am not all that conservative either. Some of my worst arguments have been with conservatives, especially the libertarian type. But for some odd reason, these newsgroups have always been dominated by liberals. I like to have balance so I will take up conservative views that even I don't believe in just to keep things fair. I will often take a Devil's advocate position just to see what kind of reaction it gets. The main fault I find with liberals is that they are way too serious. They need to lighten up. After all, we could all be wrong about everything! Posting to newsgroups should be nothing but fun and games. The minute it isn't, it is time to leave. I have always had lots of fun because 90% of the time I am not serious about anything. I gave up on Usenet years ago. It is an impossible medium because anyone can say anything without benefit of an editor (moderator). However, if these newsgroups had moderators, I would not bother with them. I like to be free to say outrageous things. Not everyone on these newsgroups is an idiot. I enjoy the information that Tom Sherman frequently provides. Bill Sornson is a great wit, a quality that I do not have. Wit is the rarest thing in the world and we should just relax and enjoy it when we encounter it. Others I like because they are argumentative like me. I keep in mind that I could be wrong about everything under the sun and I expect that attitude from others also. But none of us are who we really are on Usenet. We put on a persona that is part fantasy. That is the enjoyment of Usenet. We can be someone who we really aren't. Hells Bells, I haven't had so much fun since I was playing a game called Kick the Can when I was 12 years old. Abortion
"Still Just Me..." wrote in message ... On Sat, 6 Jun 2009 18:44:31 -0500, "Edward Dolan" wrote: Women get abortions for the most trivial of reasons. I expect infanticide to become popular in the not too distant future. After all, why put up with unwanted children! Just kill the little *******s and be done with it! Good point. Note how repsonsive I am to whatever is said. That is not the hallmark of a troll. These newsgroups are lucky to have such a good natured and funny troll (gadfly) as myself. Proper subject headings should not include names of members
"Andre Jute" wrote in message ... On Jun 7, 6:59 am, Bill Baka wrote: [...] I have a solution. I never go to Texas. Bill Baka Hey, Bill Baka, are you drunk or just ill-mannered? Why was my name in the headline? What has this crap to do with me? I have already explained the situation to you once before. Tom Sherman posted the original message with your name in it and it is not considered good manners to change a subject heading. No one hardly ever does it except for scofflaws like you and me. It is considered troll behavior. Your argument is not with Bill Baka, but with Tom Sherman - and me for keeping this thread going. I have excised your name wherever I can, but others have no knowledge of how to do this. I suggest in the future you not **** off Tom Sherman - or me either for that matter. We can easily make a game out of this much to your detriment. I respect you because you use your real name (as do I and Tom Sherman). Since you do not like your name used in a subject heading, it was wrong of Tom Sherman to do so. I will not do it unless you really **** me off. However, I am not easily ****ed off, so don't worry about it. In the meantime, this thread should soon die a natural death and your worries will be over.
