Actually, as I have often pointed out, that is a gene danielsism,
and the correct form is "butbutbut".

butbutbut, at least you post under your name unlike the new generation
that believes they are too elite to reveal their names and can thereby
retort rudely from sniper cover and afterward claim either that they
never said it or change their alias.

This has a lot to do with the much too common ad hominem responses and
rude name calling.

damn, you're a shameless hypocrite!!! the world's /master/ of ad
hominem, rudery and snarling derision daring to bleat when served
their own medicine! jobst, you're quite the peach.

any why are you trying to stroke a goddamned factless, useless,
meaningless lightweight anyway? a goddamned factless, useless,
meaningless lightweight that plays with ed dolan no less. is it
because you've stupidly burned your bridges with everybody else? or
because tom sherman is stupid enough to respond? [rhetorical]

Hey "jim", if you have not noticed, Jobst is ignoring you. Something
I should consider doing, since "jim" is making Ed Dolan look reasonable.

what's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander!!!

goddamned hypocritical, factless, useless, meaningless lightweight.

At least Ed Dolan has the courage to use his real name on his posts.

like you know that for fact!

goddamned factless, useless, meaningless lightweight.

You seem to be using wreck.bike as a thought scratch pad. *I
notice there is no question mark or indication of a proposal
included. *By airing such dabblings, some readers may take up
the thread and build on it. *That seems to be occurring in
technology lately.

But balancing that negative assessment is the fact that the growth
of knowledge would be slowed greatly without dialectics, including
the re-asking of seemingly naive questions.

As tom Sherman would say "But, but, but,..." *That is what we have
here today. *Problems introduced here are neither new nor not
understood but by your "dialectic"

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/dialectic

these threads go far afield, contributors foreign to the concepts
adding their imagination of what strikes their fancy. *By this method,
wreck, bike has become an unreliable source, filled with of bicycle
lore.

Use of the construct "the fact that" already degrades scientific
discussion. *This "begging the question", because establishing facts
is the goal of the exchange.

Jobst Brandt

butbutbut...."the fact that" people forget or don't read the archives
lead to people re-asking the same questions and others challenging
archived knowledge leading to these endless discussions, that while
not producing much new tech knowledge, they serve to entertain some of
us, and "the dialectical exchanges" give us new knowledge, not about
the subject intended, but about the psychological predisposition of
certain individuals.

If there are psychiatrists reading these discussions, they could have
material to name new disorders and list them into the DSM such as "RBT-
group antisocial personality", "Shermanic obsessive compulsive
personal fixation disorder", "anti-Brandtian diatribic paranoid
schizofrenia", "JTSorsonian uninformed political fixation disorder",
etc

Each of these new disorders would describe the symptoms. for example,
abdps would be the fixation of an individual on another, leading to
ongoing harassment using endless diatribes and abusive language,
violent tantrums and the sense of lack of accomplishment leading to
more serious psychotic episodes.
