Indeed, the man-eating marsupial squirrles may even be attracted by
such pitiful attempts at self-defense. They probably consider the
fiery pepper spray a savory dressing for the carcasses of their
victims.

After all, far less savage creatures find pepper spray irresistible:

Is this really surprising? I mean, we're talking about Australia here. To quote

for me outside my room. I believe the Dutch quakka may be involved in a
secret pan-continental anti-cyclist conspiracy with the Aussie quokka. Had
to give them all my bread to make my escape......
