I don't really understand why racial abuse is a criminal offence that can
result in jail time, community service, etc. but other types of verbal
abuse are just considered part of life.

It's because racial abuse is a hangover from slavery and lynching, so
needs to be forcibly expunged.

Another OT amusing story from the local rag.

"POLICE are investigating claims a well-known businessman has been
falsely parading as a decorated Royal Navy captain. Stuart Elliott
claims to have been an officer in the Falklands conflict – even though
the Royal Navy has no record of him. The unauthorised wearing of a
uniform is a criminal offence under the Uniforms Act 1894 and
Humberside Police have now confirmed they have launched an
investigation.

If found guilty, married dad-of-three Mr Elliott faces a fine or could
even be jailed. A police spokesman said: “Humberside Police are aware
of the allegation of unauthorised wearing of a military uniform by a
51-year-old man recently featured in the media.

“These allegations will be investigated. However, it would be
inappropriate to comment further during these inquiries.”

It is understood officers will speak with Mr Elliott about the
allegations in the coming weeks.

Since when has "ni**er" been a word? I made Virgin Media ring me to explain
this. He said that even using the word "black" is now considered to be
racist. I now use eternal-september as VM disgusted me.
And what victims Simon?
This is still just about a whiteman's country, if the immigrants don't like
what they hear the gates to the airport are always open.

trains and buses, plus manning car factories in Luton and Dagenham we
could not get enough men from the West Indies to fill those roles.
That also included the mill towns of Yorks and Lancs.

Telling the children and grandchildren of these migrants to go back to
Jamaica when they were born here makes no sense in the same way as
telling a white Australian that he should be deported back to Blighty
by the aboriginals.

Come to Hull if you don't like seeing faces other than white as we
have hardly any non whites here as we did not need any Jamaicans to go
deep sea fishing off Iceland and Greenland.

Incorrect.

That is possibly the root of your problem; you think that people with a
different heritage have somewhere to go, somewhere abroad, from where
they came. But for many of them when they came here they were British,
and when they had children their children were born British, and with
multi-heritage families, many of those people also have “white”
ethnicity in them anyway.

Where anyone expects these people to “go back home”, “back to where they
came from” perhaps they should explain where to. Where’s your ancestry
from Steve? Look up all your ascendants and when you find a foreigner,
perhaps you should **** off to where s/he came from. Please.

Maybe Mr P should look up where the Romans, Angles, Saxons, Jutes,
Vikings, Normans and Huguenots came from.
