Whatsit Tammy Thomas in a world of hurt!

She was just as blatant with her doping as those women who have to strap/tape their enlarged clits down so they can wear a posing suit. Then there's the guys who are outrageously huge, have 3% bodyfat and need a c-cup bra to hold their gynecomastia "bitch-tits" in. If the males oversized mammary glands are called 'bitch-tits', surely there must be an equivalent term for oversized female clits ? |

I'm not saying she's not guilty, just questioning priorities here. Bring down Barry and you rock the world. But Tammy? Somebody's really desperate to try and justify how long it's taken for this case (seemingly relatively straightforward, given the cooperation of the principles at BALCO) to nail people. What if she rats out Bonds? She goes free, Bonds indicted. Win-win. -- Michael Press |

Michael Press wrote: What if she rats out Bonds? She goes free, Bonds indicted. Win-win. Might be too late to rat. Besides, thinking about Martha Stewart, isn't better to go after the girls? I would love to see the upshot of someone singing; that someone coming from cycling, and especially female at that, to be able to attack the major sports that at least as much as cycling, operate at two speeds. Partly as a "monkey off our back" thing, maybe a little revenge, but mostly to get as much "dirty laundry" hanging out in public as humanly possible. Maybe if the body count is going to be 97%, we can start on a different way of dealing with this problem. I'm not optimistic. Bad rules → bad enforcement. And of course, the War on People. --D-y |

Bill: You read me wrong (more likely I did a poor job explaining my point).
I have no sympathy for Tammy Thomas. What bugs me is that, assuming they have the same quality of evidence, they don't go after Bonds with everything they've got. Bonds represents the degree to which the scandal has affected mainstream US sports. If you want to actually strike fear into the athletes who might consider doping, across all levels, you go after Bonds. If, on the other hand, you want to simply put a notch on the bedpost, er, no, bad analogy. If you're looking for something easy... nah, that doesn't work either. --Mike Jacoubowsky Chain Reaction Bicycles www.ChainReaction.com Redwood City & Los Altos, CA USA "Bill C" wrote in message ups.com... She should've gotten into bodybuilding, or Pro wrestling. They both have anti-drug programs too. She was just as blatant with her doping as those women who have to strap/tape their enlarged clits down so they can wear a posing suit. Then there's the guys who are outrageously huge, have 3% bodyfat and need a c-cup bra to hold their gynecomastia "bitch-tits" in. Tammy put herself into that category by being the most blatant doper in US cycling then lieing her ass off about it. She could've said "Hell Yeah, I'm doing it, so's everyoone else, the systems screwed." and named names, told how she beat some of the testing etc..., but nope she decided that we all must be stupid and trotted out a bunch of BS. The Balco investigation may well be an overpriced disaster as far as the big fish go, so they may very well be moving on to the little ones now. Unfortunately the level of "justice" you get largely depends on the money you have to spend, but in this case she's been nailed over and over and kept right on going so I have NO sympathy at all. " Whattaya gonna believe, the mounds of evidence, your lieing eyes, or my word on it?" Bill C |

I haven't had any sympathy for RBR alumna Tammy Thomas for quite a while (probably since the Chris Witty rideoff fiasco). But here, I agree. The prosecutors are likely going after her because she is less capable of bringing an expensive high-quality legal defense than most of the other implicated athletes (including the track stars, not just Barry Bonds). Now, there could be two ways to go here. Maybe they are bringing charges against her in part to send a message to the other potential targets that they mean business, and they should sing or plead out. Or, maybe they're going after TT because they need a conviction to show results, and they aren't really going to go after the bigger fish. Or, of course, they could just be convinced that TT lied to a grand jury more catchably than other defendants, and be ****ed off and looking for blood. Prosecutors don't like that, and it is a crime; you can get served for lying about something when the original deed would not have been prosecuted. Ask Scooter Libby. The investigation has the same stink as the OJ trial, and I think they are afraid of the same result/embarassment with Bonds. I'd love to see them get Bonds, but that shouldn't stop them from getting anyone else who's guilty. I think one of the first people I knew who got busted for steroids and dealing was Brian Clark, Wesley clark's kid. That was shortly before Clark decided to retire from the military. Several of Clark,s aides were using his flights to haul steroids around for Brian. I can absolutely confirm this because I used to work out with Brian a couple times a week at the Ramstein AB gym. There've been a whole lot of gym rats busted for doping and distribution in low profile cases. Looks like they screwed the pooch on the big one with Bonds, but the others involved should be prosecuted if they can. I still haven't decided that steroids, hgh, and such shouldn't be dealt with like acohol and available legally to those over 21. I never used the stuff, but I'm not sure that an informed adult whouldn't be able to. Whether they could be used in a sport would then be up to the sports to govern and enforce. Bill C |
