RVD, Your new Delta-house name shall be Retard Stupid Geek, RSG for short. http://www.stephenbishop.com/animal.wav Anyway, I used to agree with you that rbr represented like the smallest, wackiest sliver of the cycling population but I'm not so sure anymore... Of the bike-racing people I actually know physically, as opposed to virtually, nobody posts to rbr, but I'd say around 20 of them lurk here. If that ratio applies to everybody who does post, then what, maybe a few thousand look at rbr?? So what are there, maybe 100,000 bike racers in the world? Ergo, it's more like 3% read rbr. Q.E.D. However, before you proof this equation. 100000/6,000,000,000=0.000166667 much closer to .00005% than 3%. RVD |

RVD RVD (Really Very Dense), Dammit, I hold two degrees in math from a Prestigious American University... I will not sit idly by while my detailed and important calculations are challenged, especially after the work has already been published in a highly respected, peer-reviewed forum such as RBR!!! Listen up grasshopper, my claim was that a few thousand read rbr which *is* a few percent (as in ~3%) of the claimed total *bike-racing* population of ~100,000. Class dismissed. |

From: (Miller) Sad, isn't it? Not many, but they run our sport. Miller Noone stopped anybody from voting. It's really sad that so many people who run their mouths so often do so little. It took me all of 5 minutes to vote on-line. Granted it was easier and quicker for me as I was familiar with the people involved, but it wouldn't take long to do the homework, and we could attempt to have some good discussions here about the people and issues involved too. Bill C I used to vote in USCF elections. Every damn one. But I don't anymore. The USCF Board doesn't have much to do anymore, so there isn't really any point. The bulk of their responsibilities and authority have been removed, there isn't much left. In 1995 the turnout was around 14%. I know in earlier years it was higher. But it is hard to get excited about an election for a figurehead body. Bob Schwartz |
