Default Drivers are to blame for most crashes involving motorists andcyclists in Scotland

"The report by Cycle Law Scotland shows that almost half of all
crashes are caused by drivers failing to spot cyclists at junctions.
The findings are based on evidence from legal cases from 2010 to 2012
and show that 38 per cent of collisions happened at crossroads or
junctions and 11 per cent at roundabouts.

Other causes of collisions included drivers cutting across a cyclist’s
path or hitting them from behind, and not leaving enough space when
overtaking."

so if bicycles were banned from the road then there would be far fewer
crashes.

To bicyclists: Please be visible and predictable. And realise that
still they may not be perceived. So a shout or something audible
*before* the threatened collision seems to be advisable.

They need to come up with some kind of low power hologram effect that
makes cyclists and motorcyclists look like large commercial vehicles.

Ideally one should be able to solidify the hologram for full
protection:-

"ONCE during the war an inventor brought forward the novel idea of a
searchlight that would itself bring down any aircraft caught in its
beam. The idea was to provide the searchlight with a button which when
pressed would solidify the beam. By rapidly turning the searchlight
downwards, one could 'wang' the aircraft on the ground.

The incidental details as to how to solidify the beam were, according
to the inventor, "merely matters of research and development easily
solvable by anyone who really believed in the idea"."
