Since most cars are made with AC already fitted, why aren't they building houses this way?

Most cars are made with steering wheels already fitted too, so why not
houses?

Because houses don't move. But they are subject to the same weather and therefore require AC just like cars.

Your house gets hot in summer just like your car.

How can your newsreader not like crossposting? The function was created for a reason.

You spend more time in your house than your car, so it needs AC more than your car does. In fact a higher percentage of your car's surface area has openable windows than your house, so again, your house needs AC more than your car does.

Brian, but then I've not seen your house,
maybe you live in a car?

Cars don't have double glazing and brick walls.

Doesn't stop the houses getting too warm in summer. And as I've said, you can open all the car windows to very quickly make it the same temperature as outside.

Brian probably does not subscribe to uk.rec.driving and uk.rec.cycling. If
your post was restricted to just those groups, he'd probably not mind the
cross posting.

What's the problem with a crosspost to somewhere someone doesn't read? I often respond to posts made in a group I'm in and a few I'm not. The reply I make goes to all of them, and I see replies to it, because they come to the group I'm in.

It's a steaming turd by design.

But few houses are metal boxes with that much single glazed glass.

Probably, if he's using one specially made for him. Software made for blind folk is not a big market, so they don't have a lot of work put into them. I assumed he was using a mainstream newsreader with a voice addon.

Irrelevant, houses soon get too hot in summer. And they cannot be cooled as fast as cars, as I've already said. And you might not want your windows open all day, no privacy and if you go out you might get burgled.

I thought 230v 50Hz AC was standard for pretty much all houses.
