Default More driver wriggling

He couldn't even use the Tom Crispin gambit as he fell over.

QUOTE:
"A MOTORIST who was so high on drugs he fell out of his car onto the road
when a concerned passer-by opened the door has been disqualified from
driving. Andrew Hill, aged 21, must also complete 70 hours of unpaid work as
part of a 12-month community order and stay indoors between 8pm and 6.30am
for three months.
Hill, of Truro Gardens, Ronkswood, Worcester, previously pleaded guilty to
driving while unfit through drugs and possessing a class C drug at Worcester
Magistrates Court. As your Worcester News reported on Tuesday, Hill's blue
Ford Fiesta braked suddenly on the A38 on Saturday, July 2, forcing drivers
behind to swerve around it.

He was also found with a very small amount of ketamine in his wallet.

In interview, he told police that he had taken the drug earlier that day and
was driving to work.

Hill was disqualified from driving for 18 months and ordered to pay £85
costs.

What an idiot - he was well over the limit, but as there was a "noise
in the street" he thought it would be sensible to drive three young
children in his van - which had no seats.

Don't drive to the hospital after you have been filled in.

"A 27-YEAR-OLD man has been banned from driving after refusing to
provide a breath specimen because he had just been beaten up.

Burton Magistrates' CourtBen Orton, of Badger’s Rest, Drakelow,
appeared at Burton Magistrates’ Court yesterday to plead guilty to
failing to provide a sample after he was stopped by police in Branston
Road on September 9.

Orton, who has no previous convictions, claimed that police refused to
take him to hospital after he had been assaulted — until he had
provided a sample.

The court heard that Orton had been the designated driver for a family
party and had drunk two pints of lager all night before dropping
family members back home.

It was then that Orton and his brother decided to go into town for
more drinks with the intention of leaving the car in the town centre.

However, after his brother got into an argument with a group of men,
Orton was punched unconscious.

The men couldn’t be found after the police were called, but officers
told Orton and his brother to leave the town centre or he would be
arrested for a public order offence.

Sukhi Ark, defending, said: “He believed he was OK to drive, and
decided to drive to hospital, as he wasn’t feeling very well after the
assault. But he was then stopped by police and asked for specimen.

“He kept saying ‘take me to the hospital first’ but they wouldn’t and
he was arrested.

“He continued to refuse to provide a sample and officers eventually
took him to the hospital 40 minutes later.

“Afterwards he said would now give them a sample, but police said his
opportunity had gone.

“He had a reasonable excuse. He had injuries. He should be entitled to
go to the hospital. He was upset that police didn’t deal with him.

“My client was of previous good character, but now has lost his good
name.

“He has recently lost his job and is about to start claiming
benefits.”

Magistrates banned Orton from driving for 18 months, ordering him to
pay £100 fine, £85 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
