Further down in the article there was a reference to "reckless riding"
Maybe this is more relevant.

On further investigation, far from being "scarred for life", she has a
small mark on her face which will fade in time.
And the cyclist who was involved was a child as well.
A non event, which has got the usual crowd frothing at the mouth, but
stories like this get very little.

Hands up anyone who wasn't scarred for life by something or somebody
in their childhood. Another child, an adult, the Daily Express,
nuclear weapons, Sunday school ...

Catholic nuns in my case :-)
Far more insidious than a 14-year lad scraping my chin.

I just love the way that you insist on proving that cycling is dangerous.

keep up the good work.

Simple Simon Mason - who cycles at 25mph in 20mph limits just because the limits do not apply to cyclists.
This includes exceeding the speed limit past three schools. A total disregard for the well-being of vulnerable road users.
The actions of a true psycholist.

A 14-year old child being "reckless"?
The kids of today, eh? What is the world coming to?
There was none of this violence during the war.
I'd bring back National Service etc etc.

Never mind the trauma a 5 year old suffered at the hands of a cycling thug.

And the cyclist who was involved was a child as well.

He was 14. The age of criminal responsibility is 10.
