Default Comp Pools with liners, or Conti T.T.s ??

I recently got a flat on a cold morning. Don't
want to go through that again. Archive search
suggests Conti T.T.s are at least as good as
any for flat protection. But the question........
Just how much speed will I give up over the
Comp Pools on my Rocket ?? Or should I just
stay with the Comp Pools and add liners ?

thanks

IIRC liners will add weight to the tire and slow you down too. Do you get a
lot of flats? If so, think about a stout tire. You'll go slower, but won't
be taking half hour roadside timeouts to fix flats, so overall speed won't
suffer. If flats are infrequent then I'd think about cold weather flat proof
tires and change over to fast tires when it's warm and live with the
ocassional flat when it isn't so miserable to stop and fix the p*nct*re*s.
