In the inaugural Tour de Langkawi, a French Vendee U rider had to DNS after
several days because the sunburn on his arms and legs was so severe that
they were scabbed over and bleeding. He took to wearing long sleeves and leg
warmers to protect himself from further UV damage, despite the heat and
humidity of being virtually on the equator.

that's a severe sun burn, but it looks like the kind you get if you fall
asleep in front of those radiation machines, like at tanning salons. Either
that or his other job is changing fuel rods at a nuclear power plant.
