Driver annoyed at cyclist stopped at red
QUOTE:
"Police are reminding drivers to treat bicycles like other vehicles on the road after a video surfaced online where a downtown motorist lays non-stop on the horn for at least 40 seconds while waiting behind a cyclist at a red light. The driver in the video appears to want to turn right onto Ninth Avenue from First Street S.W., while the cyclist ahead of him is waiting to proceed straight. That seems to enrage the driver, whose bumper is right up against the bicycle's back wheel." https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=4&v=EzZzGzQvoN4 http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgar...gary-1.3264737 |

This is legal in many parts of the US and Canada. If I were going straight ahead I would have positioned myself in the left lane. |

I have fallen foul of this in Romania, where the lane I was in was a turn right/ahead light and a right filter came on. Instead of going straight on as I wanted to, I had to turn right. It should have been turn right ONLY. |

The police have confirmed that the impatient git committed an offence under noise bylaws. QUOTE: "Clearly the driver is being fairly disrespectful to that cyclist. The cyclist himself is in the right lane and looking like he is indicating to go forward and the honking of the horn and the impatience by the driver is a little bit disturbing." O'Reilly said that cyclists don't have to get out of the way of a vehicle turning from behind them and pointed out that drivers can be charged under city noise bylaws for excessive honking." http://road.cc/content/news/167664-v...ough-hes-doing Love the nonchalance of the cyclist - very classy. |
