La Vuelta
Menchov looks unstoppable. He has Sastre in check throughout the
mountains. Sanchez has come on in the second half of the race but he's too far behind now. Evans is his usual wheel sucker self; always following and never attacking. Efimkin had one bad day that dropped him to fifth. Devolder has given up; not quite ready for 3 week races. Karpets has shown good consistency. Beltran has surprised me with a great fight. Monfort is another promising rider; only 24 and could finish among the top ten with a good time trial today. All in all, I haven't noticed too much drama in La Vuelta this year. But I only see the last 30 kilometres of the stages. Andre |
