Why do so many drivers think it's OK to dazzle cyclists at night? I
passed so many drivers tonight who wouldn't dream of leaving their
brights on when another car was coming towards them, but as a mere
cyclist, I clearly wasn't important enough for them to go to the
effort of dipping their lights.

Because most halfwitted cyclists are invisible at night due to dark

clothing
and inadequate lighting

And the drivers are busy chatting on a mobile phone, smoking a spliff and
changing the CD.

Driving in to work t'other night through sarflunnun along dark back
streets where the street lighting is obscured by overhanging trees I
almost ran into two cycling ******* in the middle of the road - no
lights, dark clothing - I wound a window down and politely suggested
that they might live longer if they were visible. I got a mouthful of
abuse/threats.

Clumsy and predictable evasion: blame the victim.

My dynamo alone cost more than many people spend on an entire bicycle. I
have lights which were specially shipped from Germany. And still the
drivers don't bother dipping their lights.

But, even so, is your front light anywhere near the minimum power of a
motorcycle headlight?

Oh, if it's going to turn into a motorist v cyclist thread I'll add my bit:

Driving to work t'other morning along a one-way street a car came the other
way against the flow, later in the journey I stopped at some lights at a
roundabout and three cars carried on through red in the adjacent lanes.

Hmm......I don't think I'm doing this right...... I should be slagging off
cyclists as only they commit these acts....oh, buggar I'll post it anyway.
