3D Zebra Crosswalk To Slow Down Speeding Cars
This might be fun to try on painted bicycle lanes.

Also note the density of the traffic. Certainly they were going to photograph this when traffic was not heavy but still, three cars parked on the street in one photo and four in another? Contrast that with any U.S. (or probably any European) city. -- Cheers, John B. |

Contrast that with any U.S. (or probably any European) city. That proves that the pavement art works. The traffic must have been quite heavy in the past to justify the cost of a professionally painted 3D pavement art obstacle. After installation, it would appear that the traffic was greatly reduced as drivers avoid the area rather than ramming the crosswalk. -- Jeff Liebermann 150 Felker St #D http://www.LearnByDestroying.com Santa Cruz CA 95060 http://802.11junk.com Skype: JeffLiebermann AE6KS 831-336-2558 |

You don't think that it has anything to do with the population of the entire country amounting to only 340,000 people? A bit smaller than Anaheim. -- Cheers, John B. |

They have a higher population in just your neighborhood in Bangkok don't they? I was just looking at a couple of pictures of Bangkok yesterday and damned if I could see any bike traffic. Of course it was in the downtown area. |

That should at least placate both sides of the separated bicycle lane debate. Those in favor of a dedicated bicycle lane will get something that looks much like obstacles to keep the cars out of the bicycle lane. Those opposed will get the knowledge that both cars and bicycles can drive over the border wall or bumps without precipitating an accident. If there's too much crossing over the 3D border wall, then installing a few random real obstacles should slow down the adventurous and make them think twice before crossing. -- Jeff Liebermann 150 Felker St #D http://www.LearnByDestroying.com Santa Cruz CA 95060 http://802.11junk.com Skype: JeffLiebermann AE6KS 831-336-2558 |

With a simple painted line, even if three-dimensional picture, the riders won't feel completely safe the way that they would if they had their very own WALL. And, to be just a tiny bit cynical... people that are in receipt of their very own WALL will feel wanted and will reciprocate those warm fuzzy feelings by how? Why, by voting for the WALL builders. How else? -- cheers, John B. |

That encapsulates the ethos of the Administrative State; random fatal impediments. -- Andrew Muzi www.yellowjersey.org/ Open every day since 1 April, 1971 |

True. But if everyone is driving or riding in the proper directions, and nobody looks in their rear view mirror, the 3D illusion should work correctly. It's called "3D pavement art". https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1193610/Dont-look-Cyclists-faced-huge-hole-ground-towpath--luckily-just-pavement-art.html Much mo https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=3d+pavement+art https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBxBg6Dpr38 https://www.pinterest.com/pin/326792516683093189/?lp=true https://www.google.com/search?tbm=isch&q=3D+pavement+art -- Jeff Liebermann 150 Felker St #D http://www.LearnByDestroying.com Santa Cruz CA 95060 http://802.11junk.com Skype: JeffLiebermann AE6KS 831-336-2558 |
