It keeps a large percentage of the cycling filth off the footpaths and the
roads.

Indeed. And what's he wittering about now? Hottest day of the year, the
cycle path was jammed with buggies and dogs-onna-string.

Well, cyclists think that cycle paths are too dangerous, so at least
someone is using them.
