If you go into a Auto Zone or other car parts place most of them have this purple degreasing liquid. This stuff cleans any oil based anything off of anything. Just put your dirty chain in a glass jar and cover it with that purple haze and let is sit for 5 minutes, remove and rinse in water and your chain couldn't be cleaner.
