All it would take is for a foot to slip on the accelerator or for the
car computer to malfunction

We have been through the computer malfunction before, do you now have
some proof that you did not have before?..

That was long enough ago for Doug to have forgottem how comprehensively
his arguments were demolished, or for him to think we have - I'm never
sure which applies.

Suggest you do a Google search for 'car computer malfunction'. I think
you will find it quite enlightening.

Doug.

You brought it up, you cite details.

The search result is too numerous and lengthy for here.

Agreed, but we only ask you to cite one or two examples that support
your claim that car computers do not fail safe. You refuse to accept any
statement from anyone else unless they can provide a cite, so it is only
reasonable to expect that you do the same.

Why are you deliberately ignoring the fact that there are much more
that two examples on the Google page source which clearly indicate
that car computers are not 100% reliable.

What is important is not whether they are can fail, but what the
consequences of failure are. None of the hits from that search show
anything that would affect vehicle safety and that is what you need to
provide links for to support your claim.

It really doesn't matter if a trip computer fails. It does matter if the
ABS stops working without warning, although, even that might not be
critical in most circumstances.

Firstly here is a list of some common car computer failures.

Secondly here is just one example fo a fatal crash caused by a car
computer.

Suggest a
simple search on your part will suffice to show my argument was
completely correct.

I disagree. I spent quite a while trawling through the hits and found
nothing to support your claim.

You are being deliberately disingenuous.

Not at all. That is a simple statement of fact.

How do explain that my Google searches are more successful than yours?
Could it be that it depends on how much you want to know the truth?

Google tells you what you want to know, it reflects in your searches what you are interested in. That is one of the benefits, and downsides ....
