Default How to refill refillable brake shoe holders

My new Urbanite bike uses refillable "V-brake" style threaded brake
pads (in cantis.)

Is there any on-line resource with step-by-step instructions on how to
refill these? I'd like to put Koolstop Salmon pads in now that the
rainy season is here, and would also be very interested in knowing how
to change pads without completely disassembling (and therefore having
to readjust) the brakes.

Is it really that tough? I thought there were instructions printed on
the Kool-Stop packaging, but I didn't look closely since it seemed so
obvious:

1. Unhook brake cable (to allow more working room).
2. Pull out retaining pin.
3. Push pad out the open end of the holder. A blunt screwdriver helps
if they don't slide easily.
4. Push new pad in.
5. Push in new retaining pin.
6. Hook up brake cable.

The pads and retaining pin can be seen he

Strangely, neither Park Tool or Sheldon Brown have articles about this.

Many thanks. After years of dealing with traditional cantilever brake
pads, I expected it to be more complex.

In addtion to step 3...

Clean out the holder with a small brush or pick to remove any dirt before
inserting new pad. The dirt will get pushed up by the new pad and not allow
it to seat fully making the retaining pin impossible to get in. This isn't
immediately obvious as the new pad "looks" seated. The retaining pin should
push in easily.

Mike
