bikes that are some combination of silver and red go the fastest,
obviously because red goes fastest but you need to be able to compete
with speeding bullets.

Black is the new black...

but I like anything "trick" :-)

Orange is good.

As for special purposes.. something dull
and crappy lookin' for a commuter/chippie-bike..

Not just any black. It has to be carbon weave with touches of titanium, ie
the Stealth Bomber look.

I used to have a totally chromed BMX.. has anyone else
thought this would be cool on a road bike or is it just me
that's delusional?

Chrome is tougher than paint (crash resistant) and with sun
on it would blind the opposition in a crit.. insert evil laugh

After the ease with which the street fixie was powdercoated,
I'm thinking about stripping the stock GT SS paint and having
it done as well.. HOT PINK! (or maybe not.. I've heard you
have to be able to ride fast otherwise it's just gay :-) )

Pink bikes don't get stolen. No self respecting bike thief would be seen
dead on a pink bike.

I overheard two guys on the street saying that metallic black 853 frames
are the real new black. And what's even cooler is to have black decals
that you can't read

Yep, monocoque carbon fibre frame - the little black dress of cycling.

Ritch.

PS. A woman walked into a bar and asked the barman for a double
entendre, so 'e gave 'er one.

No, no.. it's powdercoated gloss black on a bike with
no decals and no cable guides and no brakes and no
gears and no shifters and no bar tape and no cables...
:-D

I'm gonna have to put the next stage of "Vegemite" up
aren't I? Stay tuned to thehippy.net/gallery/

look darling don't worry about the colour, unless you have the GT stickers
