Testosterone Used During Race Wouldn't Have Helped, Experts Say
"gds" wrote in message
ups.com... OK, I'm not an endocrinologist nor expert in this any way but I do have a question. If there is no short term benefit from elevated (more) testosterone, then why is it that the body almost immediately produces elevated amounts as a response to stress? And if the stress is removed then the body quicky reverts back to its baseline level of testosterone production. As a matter of fact ALL of the glands in the body excrete excess hormones under stress. Some help and some don't. Do you believe the human body is perfect? |

Dammit, he just forgot to take the patch off that morning. He got buzzed on
booze, slept with his wife and forgot to remove the patch, and the rest is history. "Klay Anderson" wrote in message ... http://tinyurl.com/s2p5h -- Regards, Klay Anderson http://www.klay.com +801-942-8346 |

Some have alleged that it would be worth taking if only for the placebo affect. Perhaps those touting it's benefits were suffering from placebo affect when they determined that it worked for them. After LeMond's Tour win in '89 everybody and his brother was taking iron shots and everyone was bragging about how you got an almost immediate boost. In FACT many riders decreased their performance because they were on the edge of iron poisoning. Anyone else remember "Mellow Yellow"? Supposedly if you smoked the dried lining of the banana peel you'd get high. Literally MILLIONS of kids instantly tried it and testified that it was a GREAT HIGH! In the 1920's riders believed that smoking tobacco would "open the lungs" and hence before the climbs you'd see riders passing around a cigarette. Paradoxical response is pretty common, a lot of asthma medications work on the principle. Cigarette smoke is an irritant that can constrict the bronchia. However, a drag off, say, a marlboro menthol can cause the body to over-compensate and cause bronchial dilation. What someone CLAIMS to be effective and what tests demonstrate as effective are commonly two completely different things. There are NO tests showing testosterone as being effective for "recovery". I am amazed at how much more knowledgeable 5 dozen bike dorks on the internet are compared to the tens of thousands who've been to the big game. They all must be nothing but superstitious morons. Go over to RBT and you'll see how stupid the pro's are for using sewups. Ron |

Only the ignorant say this, they are easier to notice than the less ignorant, and they will always be with us. Tubular tires are great if you do not have to maintain them; the aging process requires a special cabinet in the cellar. Heck, tubulars are great if you want to maintain them yourself, but if you have no cellar in your apartment, you are SOL. They are light, the rims are light, they ride better flat than a clincher, and are a faster change on the road. If you can find a truly slick clincher it will ride as well as a tubular. -- Michael Press |

Because so much does not make sense I tend to believe that he is innocent. However, he might have been a low level doper who goofed and got caught. |
