He might inspire Hampsten and Roll to come out of retirement.

Yeah, right. *Like some Pro Tour team is gonna hire 44 year-old has-been
who can't even win a cholo race.

These guys come out of retirement because they see the salaries the
riders are making and they kick themselves for racing for next to nothing.

dumbass,

44 is the new 24. alcala will head the new pro team backed by carlos
slim. remember he dropped armstrong like a rock on the climbs and
smoked lemond in the tt in 1990. he would won the '91 tour if he and
the rest of his PDM team didn't get food poisoning.

Rooks, Thrunisse...those guys were all on the juice.

Lemond was on PDM too.

Yeah, but that's when he started to suck and claim he had a "blood disease" which
he asserted was due to a ****ing defective mitochondria. *

dumbass,

lemond, i think was on pdm in '88, the same year that theunisse and
rooks were. but he sat out most of that year.

i was looking through the old records of the riders that have come up
lately and it looks like something really weird happened in 1994 (that
was the year gewiss-ballan did the podium sweep of fleche wallonne).

that was the last year for a lot of riders (lemond, alcala) and for a
lot of riders that was the last time they won something big (bobrik,
berzin). i wasn't following the sport as closely in the mid-90s so
can someone shed some light on what might have happened ?

Berzin.....that dude. He may as well change his name to Edita Rumsas. '94 was the
year Ferarri perfected his dosage of orange juice. That was also the same year that
OJ slit his wife's throat, I think. BTW, do you know what Ron Goldman said to Nicole
Simpson when he saw her in heaven?

He said, "Here's your ****ing glasses."

Take care,

Magilla

Is Geritol on the banned substance list?

Mark J.

I'm waiting for Victor Vicente of America to come out of retirement.

Those are some pretty amazing accomplishments for a crack baby.

"Changed name to Victor Vincente of America 1978."

Thanks,

Psst - those were the years when the peloton was dropping a lot of older
riders and getting new ones. Also they were beginning to attract more
attention because LeMond had boosted the pay of riders substantially.

None of that had anything at all to do with drugs. Let's remember that it
was the Dutch riders who discovered EPO and started killing themselves with
it.

Maybe someone showed him some film of that time when he used up his
Lucky on the tram tracks in Norway?
