You know what the primary motivation of the production of the MacBook
I'm using to type this at you right now is? To make Apple money. You

dumbass,

not everything that makes money is a good product.

And not everybody that smokes gets cancer.

Nonetheless, the system broadly achieves the expected result.

dumbass,

buyer beware still applies.

you depend on laws and regulations (or the remote possibility of a
lawsuit) to protect you, but sometimes thats not even enough and
harmful products like vioxx or subprime mortgages are consumed by the
public.

Funny you should bring up Vioxx. There's some ex-users who are pretty
****ed off it's off the market, since for a certain group of people, no
other pain med did a very good job of helping them.

So they used to be able to get relief from excruciating pain, at the
danger of a small risk of a heart attack. Now? Just the pain.

As usual, I'm too lazy to look up the numbers on Vioxx, but I think
you'll find it quite educational to read up on the large studies, and
calculate the number of, erm, surplus deaths Vioxx caused, versus the
number of apparently happy users who managed their pain with it.

As for the subprime mortgage issue, I feel no sympathy for the sellers,
who were effectively the big dupes in this whole thing. At least the
subprime defaulters got to live in a nice house they couldn't otherwise
afford for a few years.

And that doesn't account for the many subprime non-defaulters,

foods, it's been a while since I studied any of this).

If it keeps making money, then I can guarantee someone thinks it is a
good product. Of course if there can be an exception: you can sniff
it out and sure enough you'll find The State involved somewhere if it
is crap. Guaranteed.

The dairy industry may even be nastier than the beef industry in what

I have always been against the organic tag.
Too precious, as if non-organic food is not nourishing.

Offering to people a picture of where their food
comes from is a worthy endeavor. Force-feeding
a new regime ain't.

Let me tell you a little story. Back quite a few score years ago someone
got
curious about why most of the world suffers from stomach cancer in fairly
large percentages and why people in the USA seldom get stomach cancer.

After a great deal of research they discovered that the preservative in
breakfast cereal boxes was preventing stomach cancers. The rest of the
world
began putting that into their packaging while the American weirdoes
demanded
that their food be "organic".

show us a reference to what you're talking about.

What's the matter - can't use your own computer?

By the way, what you've made absolutely clear is that you have never worked
in commercial industry. You and your stupid pals will believe absolutely
ANYTHING about commercial industry.

Why, I remember several university studies that were complete and utter
fabrications from beginning to end. I sort of have the idea that you must
have been involved in them.

I think that we should keep all results of intellectual property used by
commercial industry away from Amit and see just how happy he remains. Or
seeing his usual postings - see how even less happy he can become.

You made the claim, Sir Cites-a-not. Back it up. I can tell you that it doesn't
come up in searches. I suspect it doesn't exist outside your fevered imagination.
