Default Lance gets his GTO pimped Tuesday on TLC

Scheduled to air on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, this special
hour-long episode of Overhaulin' takes viewers through the process of tricking
Lance and tricking out his 1970 GTO. The Overhaulin' accomplice: Sheryl Crow.
Crow helped hosts Chris Jacobs and Courtney Hansen and automobile designer Chip
Foose with the details of Lance's hectic schedule and training regime,
connecting the team with Lance's circle of friends and sharing her ideas for
the dream renovation of his car. How will Lance react when his girlfriend's
gift goes missing? With frustration or anger? Or calm and cool? Will Chris and
Courtney's pranks drive him over the edge? What are Chip's plans for the body,
interior and wheels? How will he match Lance's perfectionism with a matchless
customization of his car?

During the filming, an anxious Sheryl said, "This is really going to blow him
away … he's going to have a cow!"

After seeing his overhauled car, the overwhelmed Lance said, "This is one of
the most amazing cars I've ever seen!"

Haha. I read that as 'he's gonna have a crow'.

We covered all those jokes last July, Badj.

The host of that show is an idiot ... while asking for his autograph, he
congratulated Lance on his record -fifth- victory.

They did a great job with the car though.

Uh, that was part of the joke...not to disagree with you though. The whole
cast seemed kinda doofus, including the token female lead.

My brother says 'they picked the wrong guy for that show, b/c Lance is so
low key and jaded' Then he says "...I've seen tree sloths more animated'.

I replied that Lance seemed pretty happy at the very end whooping it up
while driving away, but I had to agree, they probably expected more of a
reaction than just grinning. I enjoyed the show though, mostly.

It made me wonder why SC got him the original GTO in such bad shape. She
could have gotten one in mint condition for 50K - is she that cheap?

Then they acted like -she- paid for the make-over. I thought with those
shows that this was part of the show budget - the 'mark' or his people pay
nothing.

Tell ya I wasn't surprised at LA's low key reaction, but I -was- surprised
that he didn't get ****ed off that they were touching his Tour-winning
Trek, rolling around a bike that probably cost more (or is worth a lot
more) than the GTO. Wouldn't he have noticed it was missing while they were
fitting it?

Even more surprising is what a slouch LA is. At the very end he's standing
there with his belly slightly protruding and shirt open and zipper half way
down on his 2 dollar baggie shorts. Guess he deserves to be comfortable,
but dayum! ;-p

They did a great job with the car though.

Dunno. At least 'Pimp My..' puts a flat panel LCD in most of their cars...
(though they usually don't swap out the enginge). ;-)
