It must have been the 3 or 4 seconds of the girl in a skirt doing a wiggly sort of dance. Ooooh! Shameful! -- tanx, Howard Abandon the Creeping Meatball! remove YOUR SHOES to reply, ok? |

Nonsense. Anyone who posts shock value **** in a cycling forum is deranged. Howard Kveck wrote: Now *that* is nonsense. Some people like to see the reactions of others - your reactions to those stimuli are predictable and rather amusing. Sad but true... Pavlov is alive and well and posts to rbr. Why is it that the editors of Cyclingnews don't seem able to actually edit? Spelling and misused words and completely incorrect sentences are quite common. And most of them have to be pretty bad if I notice them since I am attuned to Internet-ese and tend to overlook spelling, punctuation, and structural errors because they're so common on the groups. But just read this:http://www.cyclingnews.com/features....8/bobbyjulich_... Bobby Julich is certainly someone whose point of view will be of interest.. So how is it that there are so many errors in his article? Can Cyclingnews really believe that they can publish an author's submission without editorial inspection? Or is it that the editorial staff don't know how to write? I dunno, I kind of liked the article, and I found a couple of awkward (okay pretty awkward) sentences here and there. But being a writer myself, and an editor for many years, I didn't see the errors. Maybe because I read it too quickly. Can you point them out? Overall however, I liked the entire blog, and found its points on listening to your body very helpful: it confirmed my own observations about when I should not go out. Jen |

In article , "Robert" Why do you keep doing this **** in a public cycling forum which have lurkers of men, women, and young adults who are by in large at least reasonably decent and respectable? I have a pretty good idea why people post links like that, Bruce. I'd say it's pretty much because of the "Ewww! Icky!" reaction they get from you. Which sort of makes it seem like you get dressed in the dark so you don't have to, you know, see things. If you know what I mean. Nonsense. Anyone who posts shock value **** in a cycling forum is deranged. Now *that* is nonsense. Some people like to see the reactions of others - your reactions to those stimuli are predictable and rather amusing. Sad but true... And those people are obviously deranged as well. |

There were a lot of mis-spellings and incomplete sentences and the like. What you'd expect from a racer like Bobby who was just trying to write articles. That's why you have editors. They're the one's expected to have a degree or at least a lot of knowledge of English and writing techniques. |
