Default An example of a bureaucracy totally out of control

The UCI is a bureaucracy out of control. Here's an example:

The UCI has unilaterally dictated that a plumb line hung from
the forward most point of the saddle may not hang forward of
the center axis of the bottom bracket.

This is why one sees professional time trialists perching on
the tip of the nose of the saddle when competing. This is an
example of useless, counterproductive bureaucratic interference
that actually causes an unsafe condition as it is a more safe
and secure position when the rider can be seated on a saddle
in the middle where it's designed to take the stress and strain.

Petty, petty, petty! Yet the bureaucracy truly believes that their
ill-conceived rules are justifiable. Why, oh why don't more
folks start challenging these out-of-control and self-serving
bureaucracies?
