When I use the term "100%", I use in its normal, everyday, sense...

If that#s what you "think" its meaning is, I shan't try to dissuade you.
But no wonder you're struggling with it.

You could try some remedial English lessons, I suppose.

It is a meaningless term not covered in formal language.

So now you don't know what "remedial" means?

It may be informal, but everyone understands what it means.

I agree that in normal conversation it's just a matter of taking a deep
breath and carrying on with the conversation.

You're being pedantic.

I am asking a pedant not what it means but what he means.

TMS320 admits that he is too uneducated to know what "100%" means.

An educated person is usually willing to inform the uneducated. I'm waiting.

Check a dictionary under ("percentage").

Alternatively, do a Google search on the term "100%".

That's as far as I'll go.

I understand the dictionary definition. I doubt you do.

Alternatively, do a Google search on the term "100%".

First example of usage in slang - "100% I wanna have sex with that girl!"

That's as far as I'll go.

That might be a good idea.

That may well be how *you* use the phrase.

It is certainly not how I use or used it and neither was it a slang usage.

But you have explained yourself well (for a change).

If your example indicates what you think (or thought) it means, there's
nothing I can do to help you. You are a 100% lost cause.

That's as far as I'll go.

That might be a good idea.

Quite so.
