Default Yet another car smashed into a house.

They just keep on happening don't they. You are not safe even in your
own home from motorists and their car-weapon, who incidentally
seriously endanger cyclists too. Lucky the couple were in the kitchen
at the time, instead of the front room.

"A man has admitted smashing a BMW into a couple's living room
following a row at a Glasgow party.

Paul McGarrigle had been at the party in Findochty Place when he began
arguing with Gayle McQuilken and Allan Fleming who then went home.

Glasgow Sheriff Court heard how the couple were in their kitchen when
they heard a bang and found a car sticking through the wall of their
living room.

Sentence on McGarrigle, 33, from Maryhill, was deferred for reports.

He was released on bail and given an interim driving ban.

The court heard how the couple had escaped unharmed but it had cost
about £20,000 to repair the damage which included a "ripple effect" on
the adjoining house next door..."

They just keep on happening don't they. You are not safe even in your
own home from criminals and their means of transport, if you have an
argument with them, who incidentally do not seriously endanger
cyclists too. Lucky the couple were in the kitchen at the time,
instead of the front room.

Have you got any figures yet SFB's?

How often does this happen in reality?

You are not safe even in your
own home from motorists and their car-weapon, who incidentally
seriously endanger cyclists too.

That doesn't make the post on topic idiot.

"Keep on happening" eh? "Yet another" eh? Would you care to come up
with a figure as to the actual risk of any of us being hit by a car
when off the road? You'll need to ascertain the average number of
these hysterical topics you start per week, the average amount of time
that each of us spends off the road each week, and the number of us in
the UK. Then see if you can figure out what to do. Alternatively you
could see about establishing just how many houses have *ever* been hit
by a car. That's if you actually care what the figures say rather
than what your emotions do (unlikely since you're a speed camera
supporter).

Hell, even the risk of being hit by a car when *on* the road is
considerably lower than some like to make out.

What do you think is the solution to this common problem?

Well no they don't, but you know that.

You are not safe even in your
own home

I feel quite safe, and I am sure the stats will back me up, have you
got those stats?
I'm sure you must have them because of all your postings.

from motorists and their car-weapon,

Where do you buy these car weapons, who makes them, can you provide a
link.

who incidentally
seriously endanger cyclists too.

Have you the stats for the number of cyclists who were injured in
incidents the same as this, could you then present them as a
percentage of the number of cyclists.

Lucky the couple were in the kitchen
at the time, instead of the front room.

So they were making a cup of tea, so what.

"A man has admitted smashing a BMW into a couple's living room

So it was delibrate, not an accident, do not forget to consider this
when producing those stats.

So he was charged, you tell us that that does not happen.

Did the man have a driving licence, and if so why was he charged, he
has a licence to kill.

Let's look at the facts in full shall we:

man gets drunk at party
drunk man has row / fight at the party
drunk man lies to friend to obtain car keys
drunk man crashes into house next door to party
drunk man is arrested the scene
drunk man refuses / is unable to complete a breath test
man is prosecuted for culpable and reckless driving
man receives an interim driving ban (full sentencing is deffered until later
this month for background reports)
man has lost his job (he was a van driver)
motor insurance covers the cost of the repairs to the houses that were
damaged

Are there any of those facts with which you don't agree?

Which steps in that process would you like to remove?

What additional steps do you think should be present?

Regards

S.P.

I expect the daily number of pedestrian road deaths in Europe greatly
outnumbers those killed by e-coli.

No, they don't. In fact, it wouldn't suprise me if this is a duplicate
of a previous post of yours, i.e. same incident, it's just now come to
court. I can't be bothered to find out.

You are not safe even in your
own home from motorists

Yes you are. Of all the car-hits-house posts you love posting here,
they all seem to say "no-one was injured". So still quite safe.

An incidental reference doesn't make it on-topic.

Lucky the couple were in the kitchen
at the time, instead of the front room.
